Historic City News learned Friday that St Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar has apparently attempted to misappropriate $10,000.00 in public funds making a material misstatement that the use of those funds by a third-party organization complies with the requirements of state law.  To further conceal the misappropriation sought by the sheriff, the request appears only on the “consent agenda”; recommended by administrative staff for approval without public comment or board discussion.

Congressman John Rutherford announced to local Historic City News reporters the nominations of St Johns County students being considered for appointments to the United States Air Force Academy, United States Naval Academy, United States Military Academy, and United States Merchant Marine Academy.

St Johns County District 1 Commissioner Jimmy Johns announced to local Historic City News reporters today that he has filed to run for Congressional District 6; the seat being vacated by Congressman Ron DeSantis who is making a run for Florida governor.

Today, Historic City News received statements from Speaker Richard Corcoran and Minority Leader-designate Kionne McGhee after passage of HB- 67 to establish the Florida Slavery Memorial, which recognizes the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States.
