Christmas robbery in Winn-Dixie parking lot

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Stevens reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to the Winn-Dixie Marketplace on South Ponce de Leon Boulevard on Christmas Day to investigate a robbery.

Vehicle stolen – some contents later found

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Stevens reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to a residence on Lions Gate Drive last Wednesday, December 22nd, to investigate a vehicle that was reported stolen.

When all else is closed – go to the movies

As Historic City News reporters checked activity around town yesterday, there was at least one full parking lot in town — EPIC Theatres of St. Augustine was packed from the entrance almost to SR-207, with some early matinee screenings sold-out.

Quiet Christmas Saturday around town

Most of St. Augustine’s stores and restaurants were closed yesterday in celebration of Christmas; traffic was generally light, parking lots were largely empty, only one carriage on the bayfront, shoe-leather was the mode of transportation for most of those out sightseeing.

Silent Night

Historic City News Editor Michael Gold spent the evening with his wife and their grown children enjoying the lights on the city tree and the beautifully decorated gazebo that has been the site of so many memorable Christmas Eves past.
