Tax Collector returns money to county for 21 years

Historic City News has learned that St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis W. Hollingsworth, CFC, will present the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners and taxing authorities $5,028,426.34 at its regular meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 19th.

The District 23 Medical Examiner, Dr. Terrence Steiner, has released his report to Historic City News following an autopsy examination of human remains recovered October 14th by St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputies in a heavily wooded area off of SR-207 and Lightsey Road.

Arrest made in Saturday hit-and-run fatality

Just before 11:30 p.m. last night, 19 year-old Derek Lee Mrasak, who resides at 3895 South Francis Road in Saint Augustine, was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run accident that occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning, according to Sergeant Michael Etheridge with the St. Augustine Police Department.

St. Johns County Traffic Unit Deputy J.D. McGinnis told Historic City News reporters that they responded to a head on crash between two vehicles on Coastal Highway A1A North at the intersection of Gardner Avenue in Vilano Beach before midnight last night.
