Gubernatorial candidate and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum will return to St Augustine, this time with an entourage from the Florida Democratic Party in Tallahassee. When Gillum visited St Augustine Saturday, March 17, 2018, he was joined by Ronald Rawls Jr in front of a small group gathered in front of the Lightner Museum where he said, “We will remove all symbols of white supremacy from public property”.
Less than 24-hours ago, the St Augustine Police Department informed Historic City News that Kenneth Edward Kurek, who lived at 204 Azalea Court in Saint Augustine, was struck and killed Friday night in a collision with a motor vehicle.

Ellis calls for national search to find new city manager
Chris Ellis, candidate for City Commission, told Historic City News editor Michael Gold this week that, if elected, he is committed to completing a national search before the City of St Augustine hires its next city manager.
Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church reported to Historic City News that they will continue their annual tradition of making an All Saints’ Day (November 4th) pilgrimage to pay respects to those buried in the Huguenot Cemetery; the oldest Protestant cemetery in Florida.
