Collectively, the 14th Annual St Johns County High School Art Show, on display at the St. Augustine Art Association through March 31st, pushes the boundaries of themes like portraiture, nature, social commentary, the environment, identity and diversity in an array of eye-popping styles.
Last year before announcing that he would not seek election to a second term in office, former city commissioner Todd Neville challenged city manager John P Regan during a duly called and noticed meeting, asking that at least two other commissioners join him in a vote to remove Regan from office due to his failure to perform.

On March 9, 2019 The St Augustine Record published an editorial titled “Tracy is the right person at the right time,” extolling the selection of former Mayor-Commissioner Tracy Upchurch to fill the remainder of Mayor Nancy Shaver’s term. Mayor Shaver resigned after suffering a stroke on February 25th at the end of an emotional City Commission meeting.
A rare look at over fifty original works of pioneering artist Edgar Degas comes to St. Augustine’s Lightner Museum on view from April 12th – June 16th. Edgar Degas, one of the leading lights of the 19th century art scene, is best known for his enchanting paintings of ballet dancers on and off the stage.
Communications and Events Coordinator Cindy Walker reported to Historic City News this morning that from March 19th through March 22, 2019, Constantine Engineering will undertake a sea oats planting project.
Vilano Beach Main Street is mobilizing its members on the North Beaches to show support for four agenda items related to beach restoration that are scheduled to be considered by the St Johns County Board of Commissioners during their next regular business meeting on Tuesday, March 19th.

In years of stress since 2008, there have been attempts to raid the budget of the St. Johns County Public Library System. We have public libraries today, but we advise you not to take them for granted.
