Rememberance Ceremony held at Ronald Parker Park

Assistant Beach Marshal Ron Parker was killed in the Line of Duty January 12, 1975, while investigating the minor crash of a vehicle, later verified to be stolen. Parker discovered the unoccupied vehicle in the St. Augustine Beach parking lot overlooking the Sheraton Inn pool.

Historic City News was notified by Vilano Beach Main Street, Inc. that Project Manager Farid Ashdji will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hyatt Place and Holiday Inn Express in front of the properties located at 140 Vilano Road and 125 Vilano Road at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

FDOT road repairs and maintenance report

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
