St Johns County Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Investigator, Corporal Brian Timmons, informed local Historic City News reporters that the motorcycle rider involved in yesterday afternoon’s crash in South Ponte Vedra Beach has died as a result of his injuries.
When Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Walt Bogdanich, from the New York Times, returned to St Augustine in April, he contacted Historic City News editor Michael Gold as part of his ongoing reporting on the mishandling of the September 2, 2010 homicide investigation of 24-year-old Michelle O’Connell by St Johns County Sheriff David B. With Commissioner Leanna Freeman absent Monday night, the three attending commissioners approved a motion by Todd Neville to ignore nearly an hour of public comment dominated by speakers opposing the San Marco Hotel plans.
During a meeting tonight of the Town of Hastings, commission members voted 4-1 in favor of directing the Town Attorney to prepare an ordinance to appear on the ballot allowing Hastings voters to decide whether or not to dissolve the incorporated city.
