Director and President of the Velo Fest Community Initiative, Heather Neville, told Historic City News that her organization has partnered with event promoter RaceSmith for this weekend’s 30th running of the Bridge of Lions 5k.
Laurie Sanderson reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.

A recent letter to the editor of Historic City News took the St. Augustine Record to task for its editorial on July 20. The Record outlined the process to replace incumbent Sen. John Thrasher on the ballot for Florida Senate District 6 during the upcoming elections should he be named the next president of Florida State University and subsequently remove himself as a candidate.
The next time you pass by, you will notice that the large steel sign frame, at the corner of King Street and Ponce de Leon Boulevard, has been removed; just one of several business locations where the owners have voluntarily complied with provisions of an updated sign ordinance that was passed by the St Augustine City Commission.
