Planning Board wants answers on San Marco Hotel

The Planning and Zoning Board of the City of St Augustine continued the request of Kanti Patel to rezone parcels from current zoning designation of Historic Preservation-5 (HP-5) to Planned Unit Development (PUD) until its meeting on February 7th.

Chairman of the St Johns County Board of Commissioners, James Johns, would like to notify all Historic City News readers that the local state of emergency, in place since October 7, 2016, is not anticipated to be extended past the expiration date of January 10th.
Opinion: We can learn from an old man and young boy
It’s a new year for Historic City News and 2016 provided ample opportunity to learn from our critics — both those who were constructive and those who were abusive. Looking ahead to 2017 — some things will be improved, some will be discontinued, and some things will remain the old way. In discussing the next year with our advisors, we were reminded of the parable of the old man and young boy.
Editorial: Why do our schools punish the victims of bullying?

I find it odd that we use a system of discipline that allows the victims of bullying in our public schools to be punished if they stand up to their aggressors. After all, isn’t that the best way to prevent further bullying?
