Historic City News readers were informed prior to the July 1, 2019 effective date of the state’s new texting-while-driving law; however, during the first six-months, the Florida Highway Patrol has focused on education.  The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles warns that time has passed.

On Monday, December 23rd, at 5:45 p.m., Chabad of St Johns invites Historic City News families to participate in the Chanukah Helicopter Gelt Drop; when chocolate coins will rain down from the sky at the Nocatee Splash Park.  Giving gelt (money) to children at Chanukah is an ancient Jewish custom.

Historic City News was called to a press conference this afternoon by State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, RJ Larizza, who announced that two Jacksonville men have been indicted and are being held without bond, charged with first-degree murder by unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
