Orange Street east-bound may close under plan
The City of St. Augustine is reporting to Historic City News readers that work begins this week on improvements along Orange Street; a project that one day could include a brick pedestrian and sightseeing vehicle lane replacing the eastbound traffic lane.

Civitan Club program announced
The Saint Augustine Civitan Club informed Historic City News that they will host the next monthly business meeting and luncheon at Denny’s located at 2455 State Road 16 in St. Augustine on February 24th, 2011.

Earl Byrd to be honored for service to county
For 28 years, between 1946 until 1978, Earl W. Byrd served St. Augustine and St. Johns County — and, Historic City News has determined that, at 97 years-old, he is the oldest living St. Johns County Commissioner.
