LeBlanc running for Mosquito District seat

Local reporters at Historic City News have learned that Elkton resident, Gina Marie LeBlanc, a former Education Specialist for the Anastasia Mosquito Control District who resigned in 2009 to care for her infant son, is now running for Seat 4 on that board.

Candidate petition deadline passed at noon

Noon today was the cutoff for candidates in most county elections to turn in their voter petitions — and thus avoid payment of “qualifying fees” for the upcoming Primary Elections on August 24, 2010.

Joyner addresses Women’s Republican Club

President Cindy Fraher announced to local reporters at Historic City News that the Republican Women’s Club of Saint John’s County will hold this month’s meeting Wednesday, May 19th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

City takes steps to improve surface water quality

The City of St. Augustine informed local reporters at Historic City News that they are taking considerable steps to improve the quality of surface waters by reducing the amount of pollution carried to rivers through stormwater runoff.

A Day Without Violence Project Winners

Historic City News local reporters in St. Augustine received word from Community Awareness Coordinator Kim Collins that out of 942 art and 110 poem entries, the winners have been chosen from each category to have their entries published in the “2011 Day Without Violence Calendar”.
