Carl Edward (Bud) Markel passed away December 19, 2018, with family members at his side. He was born in Hillsboro, Illinois on February 1, 1935.
The Florida Department of Transportation announced to local Historic City News reporters that they will spend an estimated $3 million dollars on the upcoming Crescent Beach Bridge (SR-206) rehabilitation project scheduled to begin in mid-January.

The North Shores Improvement Association was created by neighbors who wanted to improve the quality of life in the area south from South Ponte Vedra Beach to the St Augustine Inlet. Al Aldrich, president of the non-profit organization, says he is proud of the success that can be attributed to members of the Association since its founding 76-years ago.

St Johns County developer Jay McGarvey offers new luxury homesites at Ponte Vedra Beach’s Marsh Dunes II there’s something that won’t be included. McGarvey has donated a parcel of land to the north to the North Florida Land Trust.
Yesterday, the State Board of Education reported to Historic City News that former Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran was unanimously appointed to serve as Florida’s next Commissioner of Education during the State Board of Education meeting in Tallahassee.
