Sexually explicit materials lead to firings

Karen McNeal, Facility Superintendent of the St. Johns Regional Juvenile Detention Center, reported to Historic City News that 14 detention officers were terminated and one resigned during a recent investigation into allegations that there were possible sexually explicit materials on the facility’s computers.

Making city safer during hurricane season

Hopefully lessons can be learned from catastrophic events and such is the case after Hurricane Katrina slammed New Orleans. It was realized afterward that most all the street signs were either damaged or lost and emergency vehicles could not identify where they were in the debris filled streets of New Orleans.

Dinner and a Movie: September 22

The Dinner and a Movie series to benefit the St. Johns Cultural Council will continue Monday night, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at Gypsy Cab Comedy Club, 828 Anastasia Blvd., on Anastasia Island.
