Over 380 years after it slipped beneath the surface of the waters in the stormy Straits of Florida, a sword from the famed Spanish gallon, Nuestra Señora de Atocha, has a new home in the St. Augustine & St. Johns County Visitor Information Center. In a report received by Historic City Media from Kevin Kelshaw, Media Resource Officer with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, we are informed that a 17-year old St. Johns County juvenile was arrested Thursday evening on charges that he committed sexual battery on a person under 12 years of age and that he committed a lewd and lascivious act on a person under the age of 16.

Historic City Media was notified by Sheriff’s Office Media Resource Officer Kevin Kelshaw that a 32-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on two counts of robbery by sudden snatching, one count of petit theft and four counts of violation of probation Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect, identified as William Edward Koenig, 32, 260 Old Village Center Cr., was booked into the St. Johns County Jail where he remains held without bond.
An 18-year old St. Johns County man was arrested Thursday afternoon on 16 counts of harassing telephone calls according to a report received by Historic City Media from Kevin Kelshaw; Media Resource Officer with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as Robert Benjamin Rush, 18, 1722 Heatherwood Dr., St. Johns, was booked into the County Jail and released Thursday evening after posting bonds totaling $8,000 on the 16 misdemeanor charges.

Wednesday evening at about 8:00 p.m. the information desk at the St. Augustine Outlet Mall, located on S. R. 16 west of I – 95, reported to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office that they had received an anonymous bomb threat.
Mall security stated to Deputy Sheriff James Hayward that a caller, described as a “male voice that was hard to understandâ€, told him that “there was a bomb at the NIKE storeâ€. When the security officer asked the caller to repeat themselves, they hung up the telephone instead.
Deputy Sheriff Rachel Soles was called to Lighthouse Toyota to take a report of two vehicles discovered missing from the dealership’s lot on on U.S. 1 South.
According to the comptroller, after making an extensive search on April 21, it was determined that a blue 2004 Buick LeSabre valued at $9,891.21 and a black 2006 Volkswagen Jetta valued at $16,356.72 were missing – and presumed stolen.
Members of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the family of late Deputy Josh Blyler will meet Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. to dedicate a portion of C.R. 210 (Ponte Vedra) in Deputy Blyler’s memory. The dedication ceremony will be held at the Compass Bank parking lot; C.R. 210 and A1A North.
