Karen Lundquist is asking all Historic City News readers to consider making your volunteer hours count — volunteers are needed and applications are being accepted at St Francis House, located at 70 Washington Street in St Augustine.
Residents are reporting to Historic City News that they feel hoodwinked in the decades-old land deal between Mayor Joe Boles and former Mayor Len Weeks that provided a city-owned lot on St George Street for the two to build, with local restaurateur Chris Way, the Florida Cracker Café.
Historic City News salutes the men and women of United Way and the Red Cross who provide a helping hand, or a helping hug, when and where it is needed the most. First Coast United Way has been serving the St Johns County community since 1957.
Laurie Sanderson reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
