The Florida National Guard reported to Historic City News this afternoon that they continue to respond to the needs of the state, helping to protect citizens and interagency partners under the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis.  There are 2,906 Guardsmen on duty in support of Florida’s COVID-19 response and members are operating 14 Community Based Testing Sites where 85,076 sample collections have been administered to date.

Communications Specialist Sarah Butler and Director of Communications Michael Ryan, announced to local Historic City News reporters that today, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting.

Pursuant to the Charter of the City of St. Augustine and Resolution 2019-21, a meeting of the City of St. Augustine City Commission will be held on MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. 

As we head into the fourth week of Governor Ron DeSantis’ Safer at Home order for dealing with the COVID-19 international pandemic, Historic City News heard from members of the Board of St Johns County Commissioners who say they are doing so with new information. Chairman Jeb Smith explained to local reporters that the governor has implemented a task force to help our and other Florida communities through the process of reopening the state.
