Historic City News readers headed to Ponte Vedra Beach today and planning to spend an enjoyable TPC weekend at Sawgrass will need to make other plans, according to a press release from tournament organizers and the PGA Tour.

Vicky Oakes, St Johns County Supervisor of Elections in St Augustine, informed local Historic City News reporters that she has instituted additional measures to protect poll workers and voters traveling to one of the six voting locations.

The City of St. Augustine Beach Sustainability and Environmental Planning Advisory Council chairman Sandra Krempasky reported to Historic City News that the Council is conducting a Climate Change Challenge survey until March 25, 2020. Property owners, renters, and visitors in the City of St. Augustine Beach are all requested to participate.

Today the Florida Department of Transportation reported to Historic City News that the resurfacing improvement project on US-1 from North Ponce de Leon Boulevard to Cross Ridge Drive is underway.

A public education initiative is being launched to celebrate Florida’s founding; 175-years-ago today.  The “Happy Birthday, Florida!” campaign will bring together public, private, and non-profit partners to conduct a year-long celebration beginning this Spring.

St Augustine Sailing Sisters will host their 4th Annual Spring “Foward” Sailboat Race this Sunday, March 8, 2020, starting at 1:00 pm on the Intracoastal Waterway north of the Vilano Beach Bridge.
