The cities of Cadiz, Spain and St Augustine have joined to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution of 1812, in the first large scale event of the greater 450th Commemoration of the founding of the City of St Augustine.

Communications Director Miki Gilloon, reported to Historic City News that Kristina Garcia-Santiago, a senior attending the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, will perform the lead role of “Sarah Norman” when the Limelight Theater in St Augustine presents “Children of a Lesser God”.
Gina Busscher, Public Information Director for FDOT District Two, reported that the Bridge of Lions failed to lock down properly following its scheduled 10:30 a.m. opening and that bridge maintenance crews are working to correct the problem at this time.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr Joseph Joyner, will recognize several St Johns County students who received awards at the 57th Annual State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida during the May 15 School Board meeting, according to an announcement received by Historic City News.
Although commencement ceremonies are not open to the public, Historic City News will be on hand when about 390 students and family members gather at the St Augustine Amphitheatre Saturday, April 21, for the Flagler College spring commencement ceremony; honoring graduating seniors.
Soon, the City of St Augustine will celebrate twenty-two years of great entertainment, when they resume “Concerts in the Plaza”; beginning May 28 with the St Augustine Jazz Society presentation of The Bill Doyle Quintet with Kenny Mackenzie and Friends under the majestic oaks of the Plaza de la Constitución.
