During these times, residential and vehicle burglaries continue to be prevalent, not only in St. Johns County, but throughout the country. Many thieves gain entry simply by opening unlocked doors and windows. I urge each of you to remember to lock your doors and windows in an effort to stop these burglaries.

Business owners along Anastasia Boulevard want to become a destination. I recently heard several Anastasia Boulevard business owners suggest that the City took away their ability to be a destination by calling them a corridor in the 2000 Design Standards for Entry Corridors.

Dear Editor and Historic City News readers:

For nearly twenty years, Cheryl Strickland served as our elected Clerk of Court. When she announced she would retire in August 2015, she requested the Governor appoint me to fill the remainder of her term. It was a logical request. I had been training for the position for nearly 19-years as Strickland’s Chief Deputy Clerk. I worked beside her at the Clerk’s office for 32 years. I was involved with every management decision in the office.
