Letter: Meals are meant to feed the hungry

If one can believe the May 7th article in the St Augustine Record, the nightly feedings of the hungry on Bridge Street are being suspended for a week and the St Augustine Beach(?) Police will insure that no one congregates in the dirt lot until the meals are resumed.

I am writing to Historic City News because, once again, my neighborhood is being flooded by an out-of-control fire hydrant that has apparently been fitted to dump thousands of gallons of treated water into the street several times every day.

The attacks on nuclear power here in Florida, and in particular on the FP&L nuclear facility at Turkey Point, by out-of-state opposition groups are disturbing and purposefully intended to stoke unwarranted public fear and undermine sound energy policy. In fact, FP&L has a remediation plan in place and is not waiting on regulators to tell them to act.
