Results of public audit announced

The St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office has announced to Historic City News on September 2, 2010, that they have concluded the Public Manual Audit of the official ballots cast during the August 24th Primary Election as required by section 101.591, Florida Statutes.

County offices closed for furlough and holiday

Public Affairs Specialist Karen Pan reported to Historic City News local St. Johns County news desk that the fifth and final unpaid staff furlough day for county employees in 2010 will be Friday, September 3rd.

St. Augustine Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont informed local Historic City News reporters today that all offices of the City of St. Augustine will be closed Monday, September 6th, in observance of Labor Day.

St. Johns County reported to Historic City News that the fifth and final unpaid staff furlough day in 2010 is approaching; all departments of the Board of County Commissioners will be closed on Friday, September 3rd.

State wants city to pay for or replace land

When he returned from meetings in Tallahassee before a panel of state agencies that makes recommendations on the use of state-owned land, City Manager John Regan was said to have won preliminary support from the Florida Acquisition and Restoration Council to transfer land to the National Park Service.
