Communication Manager Karen Pan reminded Historic City News reporters that the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting normally scheduled for July 5th has been canceled.

Alvin Brown announced to Historic City News and the media yesterday that a pair of Democratic legislators from Northeast Florida will serve in his administration when he takes office as Jacksonville’s first black mayor today.

Historic City News has spent the last two days reviewing photographs, statements and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office incident report following an outburst at the end of a Town Hall meeting held in the County Auditorium on Monday evening.

City Commissioner Errol Jones deduced that the St. Augustine Commission was “wasting time” during the regular meeting tonight discussing options and considering whether or not to accept a $400,000 settlement on the Inter-local agreement with the St. Johns County Recreation Department.

After winning approval from the Historic Architectural Review Board on June 16th, at the regular meeting of the St. Augustine City Commission tonight, unanimous approval was granted to erect a life-size statue of General Jorge (Georges) Biassou.
