San Sebastian River suffers raw sewerage spill

A 60,750 gallon sewer spill was reported to Historic City News by the City of St Augustine at approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning. City crews arrived to find a power outage at a sanitary sewer lift station located off Masters Drive at the eastern terminus of Helen Street.

St Augustine police reported to Historic City News that on February 19, patrolmen responded to “Churchill and Lacroix Antiquaire”, located at 75 King St, Suite 121, to investigate a burglary.

Driver identified in crash with St Johns County patrolcar

The Florida Highway Patrol has updated Historic City News with information concerning the crash yesterday morning that involved an off-duty St Johns County deputy sheriff, reported to be on his way to work, and the driver of a Mazda RX8 — both men were injured and each was transported to an area hospital.

St Johns County man slaughters dog with machete

As deputy Thomas Bickhart responded to the call of a witness who had uncovered the gruesome crime Saturday night, he prepared himself for what he was about to see. Local Historic City News reporters were informed that a nearby resident had killed his own dog with a machete because it bit him on the hand.

St Johns deputy hospitalized in out-of-county crash

Around 7:40 a.m. this morning, Historic City News was notified that a St Johns County deputy who was reporting to work and driving a marked patrol car, crashed into a Mazda passenger vehicle on San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating the two-car crash.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit reported the arrest of a 19-year-old Palm Coast man Thursday following an investigation into an on-line relationship he had with a juvenile girl.

Robbery suspect apprehended aided by witness testimony

St Augustine Police reported to Historic City News that a homeless man, who was brutally beaten and robbed in the woods behind Broudy’s Liquors on Ponce de Leon Boulevard last Thursday, February 19th, has been able to identify his assailant — with assistance from two witnesses to the crimes.
