Unidentified human remains found along San Sebastian River

Yesterday morning, about 9:30 a.m., Historic City News was informed that police were called to a location along the riverbank, north of the San Sebastian River Bridge, after two fishermen reported finding human skeletal remains.

It is illegal to misuse emergency 9-1-1 number

At about 5:00 a.m. this morning, St Johns County deputies arrested a 28-year-old St Augustine man for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Historic City News has also learned that he is also facing 16-counts of misuse of the emergency 9-1-1 system.

The family of Michelle O’Connell informed Historic City News reporters that, during their continued search for the truth, they have uncovered the previously “missing” amendment to the Florida Death Certificate, prepared by the District 23 Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy on Michelle.

Driver in critical condition after crash into tree

Historic City News received a report from Kevin Kelshaw, media relations officer for the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office, that just after midnight this morning, a crash off King’s Road sent two local residents to the hospital; the driver reportedly was injured seriously.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported to Historic City News that troopers are continuing to monitor a controlled burn in the area of CR-214 at I-95 which may affect roadways in St Johns County.

The St. Augustine Police Department is asking Historic City News readers to help identify the robber in a purse-snatching incident that occurred Thursday night at about 9:15 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Columbia Restaurant.
