A torrent of negative response from Historic City News readers surfaced three-days ago when we reported that 52-year-old James Lee Lyons, a registered sexual predator, had been taken back into custody on new charges of bestiality; alleging animal cruelty and sexual activity against a neighbor’s pet dog.
At about 1:39 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Historic City News reported a two-car collision on SR-16 in St Augustine that would have the roadway closed for the next 5 hours and traffic backed up in all directions even longer.

Two thefts were reported to Historic City News on Friday by St Augustine Police spokesman Mark Samson. Both thefts occurred Thursday night, according to the incident reports received.
Historic City News was notified that Friday morning at about 5:04 a.m., St Augustine Police Officer Cecilia Aiple was sitting in her parked patrol vehicle when she spotted a car going the wrong way on Granada Street.
After receiving a prison sentence of over 13-years, Historic City News reported the release of 52-year-old James Lee Lyons on June 14, 2011. Lyons, a registered sexual predator, is back in custody today — this time charged with animal cruelty and sexual activity involving an animal.
According to the investigator’s affidavit for a search warrant of the Ponce Harbor Drive apartment of Lilly Ann Chavez, Historic City News has learned that several facts known to law enforcement raised “suspicions” about the daughter of 67-year-old Barbara Parchem.
