North City home total loss following afternoon fire
A three-alarm residential structure fire broke out this afternoon at the home of 74-year-old Mary K. Wiggins in the Hildreth Back Bay subdivision in North City; the devastation from the flames rendered the house a total loss in less than 30 minutes.



Jim Neuenfeldt reported to Historic City News this afternoon that the search is continuing in Flagler Estates for two local teenagers who have gone missing and have not been heard from since about 4:35 p.m. on Friday January 11.
A horrific incident of animal cruelty occurred last night, ending with a St Bernard mix dog being transported to Atlantic Veterinarian Hospital for emergency surgery — and its owner being transported to the St Johns County Detention Facility; where he remains in custody.
An 84-year-old man living off Lewis Speedway, north of St Augustine, was attacked in the early evening hours of Saturday January 12, and St Johns County Sheriff’s detectives are asking Historic City News readers for assistance identifying his assailant.

A clandestine lab used for the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine was reported to Historic City News early this morning by St Johns County Sheriff’s Sergeant Charles E. Mulligan, but from a very unlikely scene — a guest room of the Sawgrass Marriott luxury golf resort and spa in Ponte Vedra Beach.
