Dog still breathing after being stabbed by owner
A horrific incident of animal cruelty occurred last night, ending with a St Bernard mix dog being transported to Atlantic Veterinarian Hospital for emergency surgery — and its owner being transported to the St Johns County Detention Facility; where he remains in custody.


An 84-year-old man living off Lewis Speedway, north of St Augustine, was attacked in the early evening hours of Saturday January 12, and St Johns County Sheriff’s detectives are asking Historic City News readers for assistance identifying his assailant.
FDLE Public Information Officer Gretl Plessinger informed Historic City News that each year, on January 13, the US Department of Justice remembers the abduction and brutal murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, for whom the “AMBER” Plan was named.
