Citrus County teenager escapes from custody
Historic City News has learned that a 16-year old inmate in the custody of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice has fled from authorities during a permitted field trip to a CR-208 horse farm this afternoon.


Two and a half years after 18-year-old Shae Lynn Burchfield lost her life in a traffic crash in St Augustine, Historic City News has learned that her intoxicated assailant, 53-year-old Frederick James Andrews, has accepted a plea agreement that will send him to prison for five years.


Historic City News was notified that a federal jury in Jacksonville found three Syrian citizens guilty of evading US immigration laws, making false statements to US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and unlawfully attempting to procure naturalization and citizenship through a fraudulent marriage scheme.
Community Affairs Corporal Catherine Payne reported to Historic City News that, just before midnight, deputies from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office were called to the residence at 8485 CR-13 North by the victim of a domestic disturbance.

Community Affairs Corporal Catherine Payne updated Historic City News this morning with word that the man sought in connection with two car burglaries that occurred last week in the early morning hours of January 28, has been identified and arrested.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. this morning, a man wearing a dark gray camouflage jacket and red and white Nike running shoes, walked into Wendy’s at 1830 US-1 South and demanded money from the cashier at the counter, according to a report received by Historic City News in St Augustine.
