A 73-year-old St Augustine man is in custody this evening after St Johns County Sheriff’s detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest alleging capital sexual battery and second-degree felony charges of lewd and lascivious behavior against a child.

A bicyclist in Palm Valley, who investigators tell Historic City News collided with a semi-truck earlier this afternoon, was transported by air ambulance to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with serious injuries; according to a report from Sheriff’s Corporal Catherine Payne.
Shortly before midnight this morning, 40-year-old Anastasia Mosquito Control District commissioner, Janice Marie Bequette, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol and booked into the St Johns County Detention Facility; charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
