If summer ever returns, the Historic City news desk will no doubt get at least one report of a sea turtle caught in discarded plastic rings thrown into the water by a thoughtless fisherman, or some other animal whose had an unfortunate run in with litter that was not put in its proper place.

Two St. Johns County men were arrested in the early morning hours Thursday for numerous charges according to records verified by local Historic City News reporters.

Twitter has been all abuzz today with “tweets” from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office media relations staff who have been posting photographs taken during a dragnet of sorts — verifying the whereabouts of some of the county’s 238 registered sexual offenders and predators.

Commencing promptly at 4:00 p.m. today and continuing until the close of the public meeting by Vivian Browning at 5:00 p.m., residents of Vilano Beach, Surfside and North Beach voiced their concerns about the effects of the city-installed barricades that block northbound traffic from entering the Nelmar Terrace neighborhood from May Street.

St Augustine police have been trying to locate a man who they say robbed the CVS pharmacy located at 2703 North Ponce de Leon Boulevard around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12th. Now, investigators from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office say they may be searching for the same man.

Witnesses on the scene at Manning Building Supply this afternoon told local Historic City News reporters that a co-worker, 57-year-old Dwight Harry Cook of St. Augustine, was crushed and killed while handling large panel doors on the company’s lot.

Historic City News was informed that Errol D Jones has been arrested yet again by city police officers and charged with simple battery, a first-degree misdemeanor.
