Hoots and Howls to benefit local animal charities

Chris Clark, standup bass player with Lonesome Bert and the Skinny Lizards, announced to Historic City News an appearance at a charity event for pets this Saturday at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Pavilion.

Noise violations could hit $499 per shout

Planning and Building Director Mark Knight presented St. Augustine City Commissioners with a proposed noise ordinance revision at their regular meeting last night that will increase fines for violations to $499 for repeat offenses.

Sheriff intends to curtail underage drinking

Yesterday, members of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Youth Services Unit assisted by detectives from the Special Investigations Unit conducted another “Alcohol Compliance Detail” according to a report received by Historic City News.

Brutal attack on Hypolita Street Sunday morning

St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that police were called just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning notifying them of a physical altercation involving several participants in the area of 70 Hypolita Street.

Handgun disappears from owners vehicle

Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that about 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Police Corporal Kevin Schmoll responded to the 100 block of Gaillardia Loop to investigate the disappearance of a handgun.
