On October 18th at approximately 11:00 p.m., St Augustine Police responded to Carmelo’s at 146 King Street to investigate a man harassing customers as they entered and exited the store.  Upon arrival, officers observed the man, later identified as 31-year-old Jacob Robert Unrein of St Augustine, who was holding a brown bag containing a large can. Unrein threw away a 24oz can of 3.5% alcohol Modelo Chelada malt beverage when he saw the officers.

William Tobias-Elliott Tinsley was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with five drug-related crimes including; (F.S. 893.1351.3) drug production, (F.S. 893.13.1a1) sale of opium or a derivative, (F.S. 893.13.1a1) sale of opium or a derivative, (F.S. 893.13.1a3) sale of opium or a derivative, (F.S. 893.135.1c1) trafficking in opium or a derivative and (F.S. 827.03.2d) child neglect. He was held in lieu of $95,000 bond.

If Gator DeLoach thought his battle to hold on to the seat of sheriff in neighboring Putnam County was over after winning a decision in circuit court, he would be mistaken.  DeLoach was elected as a Democrat in the November 2016 General Election in Putnam County; a squeaky close race against Republican challenger, Jonathan Kinney.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Debbie Delgado, that traffic will be impacted at the following
St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
