Historic City News was informed by the St Johns County Sheriff that deputies in the Southeast District are investigating and seeking information on an apparent road rage incident that occurred on Dobbs Road yesterday morning after a motorist drove off the roadway to avoid traffic congestion.

City wins appeal in Wendler lawsuit at 5th District Court of Appeal

In a decision filed March 6, 2018, Scott and Donna Wendler were informed that the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach affirmed the lower court ruling; leaving few practical options in their lawsuit against the City of St. Augustine.

Just when you think they’ve learned their lesson

Historic City News was contacted by a local resident who reported black, painted graffiti defacing some of St Augustine’s most valuable historical buildings, including City Hall. The graffiti, normally associated with a juvenile prank, is considered life threatening to properties, some of which are hundreds of years old.

Friday afternoon, March 2nd, Patrolman Sean Canning was called to the Red Carpet Inn located at 3101 North Ponce De Leon Boulevard to investigate a call that a woman had been beaten in one of the motel rooms.
