Historic City News has learned that the former St Augustine Police officer-turned-executive director of the only full time emergency shelter between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, Renee Byers Morris, has resigned; according to a published article that appeared in The St Augustine Report.
With the St Johns County Commission elections still a year away, on October 11th, Historic City News reporters learned that 71-year-old Commissioner Ronald F. Sanchez told members of the Republican Club of Greater St Augustine that he will be running for re-election to the same seat, “one more time”.
The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine announced to Historic City News that an official relic of Blessed Pope John Paul II, containing a vial of the late Pontiff’s blood, will be received on Monday, November 11th.

I would like to call attention to the story of a citizen, taxpayer and St Johns County resident who refused to be intimidated and persecuted by her Community Development District (CDD) for simply asking questions. I will refer to her as “Concerned Citizen”.
