Amphitheatre general manager placed on paid leave

The 31 year-old General Manager of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre finds himself on administrative leave from his post today, but the St. Johns County public affairs office is not commenting on the details.

Bullock performs at Haitian American conference

Thespian play writer and local St. Augustine actor James Bullock told Historic City News reporters that he will be presenting a monologue on General George Biassou as part of an upcoming event recognizing Biassou, Toussaint Louverture and King Henry Christophe.

Historic City News was saddened to learn of the death of 76 year-old John Randolph Fraser; who passed away June 8, 2010, at his home in St. Augustine Beach.

Excavation provides clues to Aviles Street history

The redesign project for the block from King Street to Artillery Lane provides the opportunity for City Archaeologist Carl Halbirt, Research Assistant Melissa Dezendorf, and their volunteer team to find out if Aviles Street is North America’s oldest continuously used street.

Students receive Medical Alliance scholarships

The St. Johns County Medical Alliance reported to Historic City News that they recently awarded academic scholarships to three graduating St. Johns County high school seniors pursuing their education in a medical related field of study.
