Senate Budget Prioritizes Education, Hurricane Recovery and Environmental Funding
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
The Florida Department of Health in St Johns County reported to Historic City News this week that for the eighth year in a row, St Johns County is ranked first in Florida in both Health Outcomes and Health Factors in the national 2019 County Health Rankings Report.
Collectively, the 14th Annual St Johns County High School Art Show, on display at the St. Augustine Art Association through March 31st, pushes the boundaries of themes like portraiture, nature, social commentary, the environment, identity and diversity in an array of eye-popping styles.
Last year before announcing that he would not seek election to a second term in office, former city commissioner Todd Neville challenged city manager John P Regan during a duly called and noticed meeting, asking that at least two other commissioners join him in a vote to remove Regan from office due to his failure to perform.

On March 9, 2019 The St Augustine Record published an editorial titled “Tracy is the right person at the right time,” extolling the selection of former Mayor-Commissioner Tracy Upchurch to fill the remainder of Mayor Nancy Shaver’s term. Mayor Shaver resigned after suffering a stroke on February 25th at the end of an emotional City Commission meeting.
