City takes $5,000 free service for the award of $1,500 design contract

The City of St. Augustine announced last week that they are seeking “public input on a logo design recommendation for Fish Island Preserve”.  The announcement invites interested persons “to submit design ideas, concepts, color suggestions, thematic recommendations, or design examples before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022”, indicating that there is still time to participate in this public process.

Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 30 attorneys including one in St Augustine

Leslie H. Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that in recent court orders the Florida Supreme Court disciplined 30 attorneys, including one in St Augustine: disbarring six, suspending 11, admonishing two, reprimanding six and revoking the licenses of five. One attorney was placed on probation.

Historic City News readers attending last week’s meeting of the St Johns County Board of Commissioners on December 21st welcomed Sarah Arnold to the Board.  Arnold took the ceremonial oath of office in the presence of her husband and four children. Her father-in-law, a retired judge, administered the oath. Arnold has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Jeb Smith.
