In an effort to help public school teachers prepare for the 2016-2017 academic year, the St. Johns County Tax Collector informed local Historic City News reporters that donation barrels will be available at all five branch locations to accept school supplies throughout the month of July.

During these times, residential and vehicle burglaries continue to be prevalent, not only in St. Johns County, but throughout the country. Many thieves gain entry simply by opening unlocked doors and windows. I urge each of you to remember to lock your doors and windows in an effort to stop these burglaries.
Cheryl.Freeman reported to Historic City News that a free conference will be held on July 20th for all current and potential education volunteers. This event is open to tutors, preschool readers and mentors, or those interested in these areas.
