Dear Historic City News editor:

I did not want to be disrespectful during Monday night’s city commission meeting when commissioner Neville misstated my race, however, I wrote him a polite e-mail after the meeting asking for a public correction which he has ignored.  His response may have been more upsetting than his original mistake.

Historic City News editor Michael Gold, our contributors, sponsors and advertisers, all were affected by the damage unleashed by hurricanes Matthew and Irma.  Our office was under more than two-feet of standing water.  Our local base of twenty-five thousand daily readers were each touched by the storms and many face continuing hardship for the foreseeable future.

I was the manager on duty at the Historic Ponce Hotel when Rachel Ashley Bilka was asked to leave.  Her complaint has created a fire storm on social media, so I would like to offer your readers some facts to consider before they draw the wrong conclusion about the situation.
