Always be prepared to protect our free press
You know things are getting pretty bad for a free press when even establishment media bastions are complaining about its hallmarks; open government records, open government meetings, transparent government transactions, and accountability by government officials.


Kathy Nelson, is new to St Augustine. She doesn’t know the political and social connections yet and I’m sure she’s still learning her way around some of St Augustine’s landmarks; especially when they are regularly expressed in terms of where so and so used to be.
Historic City News is trying something new this year in our editorial review of candidates for elected office in the upcoming November 4 General Election.



There has been a lot of posturing over the past year as St Augustine’s 450th Commemoration Department has attempted to justify its existence and avoid further scrutiny of its failed promises of sponsorships, private partnerships, and events worthy of, well, a “celebration on the scale of the Olympics”, I believe the mayor once said.
