In an effort to improve efficiency and save taxpayers outside engineering costs, as they move forward with a myriad of projects in support of the multi-million dollar upgrade of the city utility system, the City of Bunnell has informed Historic City News that they have hired their first City Engineer.

Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith, a former state attorney who prosecuted Gainesville serial killer Danny Rollings in 1994, said Wednesday he will personally speak out against “politicization” of the judiciary — every chance he gets.

Although she tells Historic City News that she is expecting about 30,000 absentee ballots to be mailed to St Johns County voters before the November 6 Presidential Election, Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, reported that the first 9,000 will be receiving their ballots later this week.

During the two-hour city commission 450th Commemoration workshop held Wednesday, September 26; Historic City News learned very little new — enduring mostly a rehash of talking points that have, so far, resulted in few concrete deliverables from the investment of city tax dollars in the much ballyhooed event.

When the City of St Augustine Beach holds its commission meeting on Monday, October 1, Commissioner Undine Pawlowski has asked to be heard on “police department matters” as well as “St. Augustine’s performance evaluation” during what will likely become another heated discussion.
