Appeal of Zoning Board denied on 3-1 vote
Historic City News reporters witnessed a split vote last night, with one commissioner missing, which means that neighbors in both the Nelmar Terrace and Fullerwood neighborhoods will not be able to stop the removal of three trees from a vacant lot previously approved by the St Augustine Planning and Zoning Board.



St Johns County Commission candidate, Merrill Roland, told local Historic City News reporters in an interview that Dr. Patricia Gill and the St Johns County League of Women Voters “are liars” because they are not allowing him and August primary winners an opportunity to debate in the County Auditorium before the General Election.
Republican Party leaders in St Johns County will meet on Thursday, September 20, when their guest speaker will be Republican US congressional candidate, Ron Desantis of Ponte Vedra Beach; according to an announcement received by Historic City News this week.
The City of St Augustine reported to Historic City News that in preparation for the budget workshop held on August 16, staff prepared a workbook for commissioners with a budget summary of each of the funds on which the city relies for operations.

St Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes told local Historic City News reporters that about 100 absentee ballots were not counted in the August 14 Primary Election because they were not received in the Elections Office until after the election.
