Historic City News reports that a West Augustine Water and Sewer Master Plan Kick-Off Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center in West Augustine.

Historic City News is reporting a marathon meeting at City Hall last night that lasted until after 9:30 p.m.

Commissioner Nancy Sikes-Kline’s comment appeared to reflect the commission’s concern that the Spanish colonial building style unique to St. Augustine is giving way to construction representing other eras in our city’s long history.

In a report to Historic City News this morning, Cash McVay says the Lincolnville Community Garden has been moved to the consent agenda at the City Commission meeting scheduled for tonight, Monday, April 27th.

St. Augustine Port Authority Commissioner Jay Bliss plans to propose that the county tax boat registrations to “provide a measure of fairness: those deriving the most benefits, boaters, would be providing a fairer measure of support.”

Former Mayor and City Commissioner George Gardner, Editor of the St. Augustine Report, says that while our County Commission wasn’t thrilled with the Phase I report for a county Master Destination Plan, Mayor Joe Boles was “pleased to see the consultants moving toward our city’s own conclusions” on strengths and weaknesses in our city’s heritage…

Historic City News has learned through the Public Affairs communique “The St. Augustine Report” that Monday night’s city commission meeting – its first regular session in a month – will be dominated by six public hearings.

According to reliable sources, Historic City News has learned that there were over 1000 people total who attended the Tax Day Tea Party at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument today between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m.
