Commissioner Tom Manuel indicted for bribery

Historic City News has learned that United States Attorney A. Brian Albritton today announced the return of an indictment of Thomas G. Manuel, a 63 year old resident of St. Johns County, Florida, charging him with two counts of bribery.

Recently, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office participated in the “Law Enforcement Challenge,” sponsored by the Florida Department of Transportation during the 2007 calendar year according to Kevin Kelshaw in a media release to Historic City News this afternoon.

EAR Document to be presented to the PZA

The St. Johns County Growth Management Department has informed Historic City News that the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) nears completion and will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Agency during a workshop on Thursday, October 16th.

Many citizens feel that the most important local issue we have on the November 4th ballot is whether or not to change our form of local county government from the current Constitutional Home Rule to Charter Home Rule government.

County Departments to Move Locations

Historic City News was informed by Karen Pan in the Office of Public Affairs, that several departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will be re-locating during the next few weeks to the new County Administration Building.
