Law enforcement was dispatched Saturday to Saint Johns Youth Academy in responce to a call from the Department of Juvenile Justice reporting an incident inside the detention facility with capacity for 70 high-risk male residents ages 14-18.

Early Saturday morning, just after 2:00 a.m., local Historic City News reporters received word that a Florida state trooper working a DUI detail in the area of US-1 South at SR-207, had turned around to pursue a motor vehicle he believed to be operating carelessly, and in doing so, he struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross US-1.

Sheriff David Shoar, who once told local Historic City News editor Michael Gold that he is a recovering alcoholic, is discovered protecting another employee from prosecution. This time it is 61-year-old Cynthia Lynn Graham, who resides with her ex-husband at 1792 Carter Road in St Augustine, not far from where she admitted to deputies that she drove her blue Honda Civic into a ditch following a night out drinking in Jacksonville.

The Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County informed local Historic City News reporters that residents are at risk of an increase in mosquito-borne disease activity.

St. Johns County Emergency Management hosted the annual Hurricane Preparedness Exercise at the Emergency Operations Center today.

Shortly after noon today, St Johns Count Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in progress on Atlantic View.

St. Augustine police officers and St. Augustine firefighters are on scene at the Vilano Beach boat ramp working an industrial accident. One injury has been reported.
