A press release from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office has informed local Historic City News reporters of the identification and arrest of two teens who have been sought after by detectives in connection with the January shooting that left Kahlil Cooke dead in a drug deal that went bad.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office have continued throughout the early morning hours to investigate a Sunday night shooting which left three individuals with gunshot injuries.

Historic City News received an update today from St Augustine Police Public Information Officer Cici “Hollywood” Aiple regarding the attempted carjacking that occurred yesterday evening on Avenida Menendez.

Historic City News readers have become accustomed to increased traffic congestion during the Spring festival season. The following popular events may necessitate road closures and detours in the city’s downtown area.

Historic City News received information this evening that, at about 7:30 p.m., a driver was southbound on Avenida Menendez approaching the crosswalk to the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument main entrance when she says a man opened her car door and attempted to get her out of her vehicle by force.

A Bunnell man has been sentenced this week to serve eight years and nine months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and for selling cocaine on two occasions in a case investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

US National Weather Service in Jacksonville reported to Historic City News that readers in the northeast Florida and southeast Georgia area, should be prepared for the threat of severe weather continuing into Tuesday.
