St Augustine Police spokesman Cecilia Aiple reported to Historic City News that earlier tonight at about 7:56 p.m., the operator of a pedicab, a bicycle converted to a rickshaw, was struck and one passenger was injured by a hit-and-run vehicle in the area of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

Historic City News was informed by the St Johns County Sheriff that deputies in the Southeast District are investigating and seeking information on an apparent road rage incident that occurred on Dobbs Road yesterday morning after a motorist drove off the roadway to avoid traffic congestion.

Friday afternoon, March 2nd, Patrolman Sean Canning was called to the Red Carpet Inn located at 3101 North Ponce De Leon Boulevard to investigate a call that a woman had been beaten in one of the motel rooms.

Director of Communications for St Johns County local government Michael Ryan, cautioned that local beaches are forecast to experience nor’easter conditions Saturday through Thursday.

In an update provided to local Historic City News reporters by Officer Cecilia Aiple this evening, we learned that an additional investigative team, led by Dr. Heather Walsh-Haney, spent time yesterday and today combing the gruesome discovery site of a human skull found in the woods on December 6, 2017.

Assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will be visiting the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on March 19 – 22, 2018 to examine all aspects of the department’s policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. 

In addition to a second-degree felony arrest of 61-year-old Deborah L Jackson of North Whitney Street for aggravated battery and a first-degree misdemeanor arrest of 64-year-old Kathleen A Ozbilen of Palm Coast for driving under the influence, St Augustine city police found time to arrest seven vagrants; each charged with various municipal ordinance violations.

In accordance with Florida State Statute 775.21, Historic City News is providing this public notification that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has been given information that a person judged to be a sexual predator has moved to another location in St. Johns County.
