A firearm, stolen from the vehicle of James Black in Flagler County, was identified by matching serial number and recovered Thursday evening from the home of a co-worker at 7 Universe Ct in Palm Coast. The weapon has been located and returned to its rightful owner after sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at that location.

St Johns County reported to Historic City News that local beaches will remain closed to vehicular traffic through Sunday, October 8th due to unusually high surf and tides restricting access to driving lanes.

A 33-year-old St Johns County man who wanted to hand over a man he had taken into custody under a “citizen’s arrest” for alleged drug activity and false police reporting, was himself arrested when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the victim’s residence in Treasure Beach on Friday.

Charges are pending in a hit-and-run car-vs-bicycle crash that occurred on SR-16 Friday, September 29 about 6:48 a.m., according to a press release received by Historic City News.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a manhunt is underway for 34-year-old Gregory Lovon James; who ran from a traffic stop early Friday morning on SR-16.

Historic City News was informed that 63-year-old Sheryl Smith of East Palatka is facing two charges today after she crashed into a motorcycle while turning left into the Target parking lot from US-1 just before 9:00 p.m. last night.

Historic City News learned that yesterday, Thursday September 28th at approximately 9:00 a.m., Officer Wayne R Ferrell, an investigator with the St Augustine Police Department, served a search warrant at a residence located at 205 Spring Street in St Augustine.
