With challengers for each of the three city commission seats up for election in St Augustine this year, Historic City News finds the discussion on issues most important to residents are growing louder.

For no apparent reason, St Augustine City Commissioner Leanna S. A. Freeman has taken an interest in the city’s taxi cabs; recently pushing for Assistant City Attorney, Denise C. May, to develop new regulations for these local business owners.

Historic City News has learned today the entire legislative delegation of St Johns County endorsed Hunter Conrad in his bid for Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The delegation includes State Senator Travis Hutson and Representatives Paul Renner and Cyndi Stevenson.

Historic City News readers who have been following the implementation process for the regulation of special events venues in the City of St Augustine and the establishment of a “grandfather” provision for those existing venues who are claiming a vested status, Monday night’s commission meeting will be of interest.
