The City of St Augustine has the opportunity to replace outgoing commissioner Bill Leary on Monday night; or at least to discuss potential candidates during the public business meeting — as of the distribution of the agenda, ten have so far expressed their interest in serving the two years remaining on Leary’s term.

St Johns County reported to Historic City News that Kevin Roberts has recently been recognized twice – first as “Case Manager of the Year” by the Florida Coalition of Children, and this week as St Johns County’s “Employee of the Year”.

Elected to the St Augustine City Commission in 2010, 63-year-old William Lavern “Bill” Leary, has decided to resign the office midway through his first term, according to an announcement in the Friday Record.

Executive Director Edward R Wuellner reported to Historic City News that newly elected airport authority members, local attorney Matt Mercer, and re-elected member, Carl Youman, were administered the oath of office during the January 14th meeting of the St Augustine – St Johns County Airport Authority Board.
